Timeline

Based on my suggestion under “about many ideas”, I'm starting a simple timeline here that can be added to at any time. It does not claim to be exhaustive and will be expanded bit by bit. So don't be surprised if some important events are missing. If you have any information that could be added to this list, please feel free to contact me and send me some brief notes (the more closely you match the style of this list, the easier it will be incorporate your information).

Note: Since Schicksal und Herausforderung has not been an association until 2020 this list will maily use it's German name and abbreviation instead of “Fate and Challenge Association” and its abbreviation FCA like I do elsewhere in English texts

2004

  • December: Establishment of Verantwortung für Kinder (Responsibility for Children) as a forum by Marco, “Mami mit Herz” (Mommy with a Heart), and Zacharias

2005

  • Founding of the Prevention Project Dunkelfeld, also known as Kein Täter werden (Don't Offend), and launch of their media campaign to lift the taboo surrounding pedophilia.
  • Based on his humanistic convictions, Marco writes various texts about pedophilia and how he views children and childhood

2006

  • Increasing media attention results in an influx of people from other (pro-contact) forums to Verantwortung für Kinder, who cause disruption there. Disagreements about how to deal with this lead to the breakup of the team and the discontinuation of the forum in August 2006.
  • September: Marco founds his own website, Schicksal und Herausforderung (Fate and Challenge) instead, at schicksal-und-herausforderung.de with the subtitle “Living with Pedophilia.” His texts find a new home there and are expanded upon over time.

2009

  • Schicksal und Herausforderung gets a makeover: from a crude blue-ish HTML website to a more modern design in green with a CMS attached
  • NewMan and I find SuH and start to support Marco by contributing own texts

2010

  • Growing media interest in the topic: interviews with NewMan, Marco, and me in newspapers and on TV
  • Founding of ČEPEK as a forum (see)
  • In December, Marco announces his intention to withdraw from running SuH

2011

  • April: NewMan, Anne, and I take over SuH and transform the site from Marco's personal project into an information and self-help platform
  • Start of the e-mail counseling service offered by the three of us, but mainly by NewMan and me

2012

  • June: Virtuous Pedophiles is founded as a website in the USA by Ethan Edwards and Nick Devin (see). Shortly afterwards, the associated forum (a GoogleGroup) follows.

2013

  • Virtuous Pedophiles leaves Google and launches its own phpBB forum instead.

2014

  • Founding of Shadows Project
  • My most active year when it comes to media coverage, with 8 media appearances in newspapers, radio, and TV

2015

  • Publication of my book “Für ein Kinderlachen” (see)
  • My idea for the Pedobear Anti-Award for particularly stigmatizing articles on the subject of “pedophilia” is taken up and organized by Simgiran for 2015.

2016

  • May: Award presentation of the bronze, silver, and gold Pedobear awards for 2015 in the English-speaking world
  • Development and testing of anti-discrimination workshops by Mascha and me under the auspices of Schicksal und Herausforderung (Fate and Challenge)

2017

  • Further anti-discrimination workshops were held, also in English and with the help of other pedophile activists.
  • Schicksal und Herausforderung founds the forum Gemeinsam statt allein (Together Instead of Alone) – at the time the only German-language anti-contact self-help forum
  • Some time during 2017, Twitter and Medium began their campaign against anti-contact activists, and Pedophiles about Pedophilia (a collaborative blog) disappeared from the internet for the first time, along with many other smaller blogs

2018

  • Massive attacks from the pro-contact spectrum on Regenbogenwald, Schicksal und Herausforderung, Gemeinsam statt allein, and Kein Täter werden; some uncoordinated by individuals targeting only the forum and its operators, some coordinated, in particular by cOOkiemonster and Cassini, targeting the infrastructure and all other aspects. Independent anti-contact blogs were also attacked, in at least one case by means of false copyright claims.

2019

  • April: A student organization invites guests to a “Pedophilia Theme Day” at Heidelberg University. Speakers include therapists from the field of forensics and the prevention network “Don't Offend”, as well as representatives from SuH (see).
  • August: Launch of the blog “Kinder im Herzen” (see)
  • September: The self-help chat “P-Punkte” goes online for the first time, at that time still under the name “Die Pädobärenbande”
  • November: I am invited to speak at a symposium in Andernach: 16th Forensic Days of the Rhein-Mosel Academy “(Sexual) Violence and its Victims” (see)

2020

  • The ČEPEK team founds the association Spolek ČEPEK, which will henceforth operate the forum (see)
  • Schicksal und Herausforderung founds a registered association (Fate and Challenge Association, FCA)
  • October 2020: Wir sind auch Menschen (We Are Human Too) goes online in response to the media smear campaign against pedophiles that flared up at the time after the abuse cases in Münster became public. The moment the website went live is documented in a report by Die Frage (The Question)

2021

  • September: Migration of Schicksal und Herausforderung to the new domain suh-ev.de and a completely redesigned website

2022

  • November: A conflict within the SuH team escalates and results in my departure from Schicksal und Herausforderung

2023

  • March: Consuela launches the Mastodon instance mapsupport.de
  • June: The weblog Consuela's Blog: Minor Attraction and Activism is published at mapblog.xyz
  • September: The P-Punkte team launches the Mastodon instance Paravielfalt for paraphilic people

2024

  • October: A wave of persecution hits Wir sind auch Menschen (We Are Human Too). (See here and here) As it later turns out, the attacks and extreme hate messages continue in waves until at least early 2026
  • November: Publication of Max's 2 Cents as my new blog
  • Conflict leads to Kinder im Herzen distancing themselves from Schicksal und Herausforderung and vice versa

2025

  • März: Aufgrund fehlenden Interesses wird die Mastodon-Instanz Paravielfalt wieder abgeschaltet
  • Juni: Staatsanwaltschaft ermittelt gegen AfD-Abgeordnete Vanessa Behrendt wegen Volksverhetzung unter anderem gegen pädophile Menschen

2026

  • Januar: Das P-Punkte-Forum geht ans Netz
