Die Partei der Humanisten lud im Novenber 2022 zu einem Vortrag von Prof. Dr. Klaus Beier ein. Er referierte über die pädophile Sexualpräferenz insgesamt, über das Stigma und den Therapieansatz, den das von ihm gegründete Präventionsnetzwerk „Kein Täter werden“ verfolgt. Zusammen mit einigen weiteren SuH-Teammitgliedern war ich dabei und fand die Veranstaltung sehr gut gelungen und sehr informativ.
Online-Workshop des Vereins ASAPinternational zum Thema „Virtuous Pedophiles: Talking for a Change“. Interessierte und Fachleute trafen sich in Kanada sowie online um vor allem Ainslie Heasman zum relativ neuen kanadischen Therapieprojekt Talking For Change zu hören. Außerdem gab es einen Vortrag und eine Fragerunde mit James Cantor, verschiedene Gedanken zum Outing allgemein und in der Beziehung (Tabitha Abel, Todd Nickerson) und einiges mehr.
Der Verein ASAPinternational hatte zu einem Workshop für Betroffene wie Fachleute geladen. Der Titel: „Effective Treatment Methodologies for non-offending pedophiles and consequent benefits to society“ (zu deutsch: Effektive Behandlungsmethoden für nicht-übergriffige Pädophile und wie sie der Gesellschaft nutzen). David Prescott, der Hauptredner, präsentierte einen umfassenden Überblick über seine bisherigen Erfahrungen in der Behandlung pädophiler Patienten und das „Good Lifes Model“, an dem sich seine Therapie ausrichtet.
A two-day conference on dealing with abusers, survivors of sexual violence, and pedophilia in general. Title: “(Sexual) Violence and Its Victims.” As the closing speaker at the event, I gave a presentation on pedophile self-help that I had prepared with the support of Sirius: “Opportunities for prevention in self-help.” During this event, I was also interviewed by German TV station SWR for a news report. I encountered great openness and interest in the topic and had the opportunity to exchange ideas with a few experts. Information about the conference can be found here on the organizer's website.
Two student associations invited us to an event where, in addition to us, 3 speakers talked about their work on the subject of pedophilia. Together with Caspar from the FCA team and 2 other forum members, we gave a presentation and then held a Q&A session. The students were from the fields of medicine and psychology and were quite enthusiastic about this opportunity to learn more about the topic. They complained that there was too little about it in their curriculum, so they had organized this event themselves. The students' interest and gratitude were very encouraging.
