A Pedo Archive

Today I added a new paragraph to the Ideas Page: about the idea of a pedo archive. The fact that we need a documentation center for discrimination has been mentioned there since I started this blog. But today it occurred to me that we also need a complementary archive to preserve media from being deleted and to make it accessible for research, if not to make the collection entirely public.

I’m driven in this effort primarily by the case of the music by “Ein Pädophiler Rapper,” which was an asset to the community and simply vanished from the internet without a trace. An entire music album just gone. Plus many videos that were produced back then by a wide variety of people, including Sirius and Rubricappula. This “golden age” of the anti-contact movement has simply fizzled out due to the deletions. We need to prevent this from happening in the future and, if possible, restore such content from old archives.

Of course, establishing such an archive raises many practical questions. For example, how should we handle it if a user decides they want their own media deleted after all? How should they verify their identity? Should the content actually be deleted, or just taken offline? Should this option even exist? The simplest solution would be to answer “no” to that last question, but I think this option must be available. And how to put this archive on a solid footing. To do that, it must either be dirt cheap or have at least one well-off, stable sponsor to support it.

Currently, The P-Word probably comes closest to this concept.
